GO Productivity, in collaboration with the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC), hosted the 2014 Global Innovation Summit and Annual Meeting of the GFCC, December 12-13 in Banff, Alberta at the Banff Centre. Pre-Summit Innovation tours of Calgary and the Wood Buffalo oil sands took place December 11.
Representatives from 14 countries, many of whom had never been to Alberta or seen snow before, were treated to a fast-paced event with meaningful panel debates and keynote presentations on innovation, competitiveness, and the role of regions in ensuring national and global economic performance.
The 2014 edition marked the first time the GFCC’s Global Innovation Summit had been held in Canada. Reviews of the Summit have been very positive, with many commending our team on the quality of the program and the unique experiences of holding the event in the Canadian Rockies.
Not only did GO Productivity welcome the world to the Global Innovation Summit, we were confirmed by the GFCC as the Canadian representative on the organization’s Board of Directors.
With stronger connections across the globe, GO Productivity has access to an even wider array of productivity, innovation, and competitiveness research, tools, and resources, not to mention access to a network of partners and allies in some of the largest economies in the world.
More information on GO Productivity’s role in the GFCC family will be coming over the next few months.
