It’s amazing how companies have been stepping up to help during this COVID-19 crisis. Here’s a great story of Albertans standing up to meet a need during this pandemic.
Situated in Northeastern Alberta, Goodfish Lake Business Corporation is 100% Indigenous owned by Whitefish (Goodfish) Lake First Nation #128.
Their services include a Garment Manufacturer, Laundry and Drycleaning.
Here’s an interesting fact, Goodfish Lake’s dry-cleaning facility is the largest in North America! And, we’re all familiar with the blue industrial coveralls, Goodfish makes them right here in Alberta.
At the onset of the COVID-19 Virus, Goodfish Lake’s Garment Manufacturing team started making face masks for the Elders of their community, then employees and then the word got out and soon they started to receive orders for facemasks, some in excess of 80,000 and 100,000 units. The Goodfish Lake team took action and are now manufacturing facemasks and sending their orders across Alberta.
To meet with the ongoing demand Goodfish has hired additional seamstresses and are currently working on online ordering mechanisms.
Thank you, Goodfish Lake, for your commitment to helping others be safe throughout the ongoing and future challenges presented by COVID-19.
